The NT Government has announced a new exhibition for Darwin titled ‘Bruce Munro: Tropical Light’ from 1 November 2019 to 30 April 2020. The illuminated sculptures will be connected by a centralised self-guided path people can wander along, with each piece intended to inspire interest during the day and hold special significance when illuminated at night. The path has been designed to allow local Darwin artists to have their work featured, creating a vibrant 2.5km art trail through the Darwin CBD.
Where: Festival Park and various venues around Darwin
Darwin’s annual arts festival is like no other in Australia. The Festival, defined by the Top End’s Indigenous cultures and proximity to South-East Asia, is as unique as the city itself. Festival Park is the heart of the celebration of music, theatre, visual art, dance, cabaret and more.
Bamboo food stalls and pop-up bars transform the centre of the city for a precious few weeks every dry season. Festival goers can be seen at the long communal tables enjoying Darwin’s legendary multicultural food before heading to one of the many venues in the Park to see the best of Australian and International performances.
