Darwin Festival 2018

Hot August Nights

#dfest18

113. Yes, you read that correctly, 113 outstanding events are scheduled for what is set to be another epic Darwin Festival for 2018.
Featuring 595 artists, 305 of whom are NT locals, the festival is spread across 31 venues throughout our beautiful tropical city of Darwin.
The 18-day festival, running from 9-26 August, is a celebration of the arts and Australian Indigenous culture, including; music, visual art, dance, theatre, cabaret, comedy, film, circus, fashion and more. 2018 is particularly special as Darwin and the mighty Northern Territory celebrate 40 years of Territory independence.
This year the festival kicks off with a celebration of our Indigenous country music tradition. Bringing to life some of Australian country music’s greatest hits we have a selection of performers from across the country and across generations.
With amazing markets, food stalls, shows and entertainers, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy at this year’s Darwin Festival.

WELCOME TO THE TOP END
We’re a proud and friendly bunch up here in the NT and new friends are always welcome, more importantly, we want new friends to keep coming back to visit and spend more time in Darwin.
While you’re here for the festival why not check out some of the amazing sites around our beautiful city. Go for a stroll around Mindil Beach Sunset Market, try your hand at snorkelling at Berry Springs, or if you’re feeling brave, check out the saltwater crocodiles in the wild.

HAVE WE GOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!
Literally, we have the place for you, in fact we have two.
The Mercure Darwin Airport Resort is just a short drive from the heart of the festival and offers a laid back tropical atmosphere. Featuring live music throughout the Darwin Festival, a lagoon style pool (with pool bar), and modern, beautifully appointed rooms, suites and bungalows, it is ideal for a family holiday or romantic getaways.
Across the street we have the Novotel Darwin Airport Hotel, designed for business travellers and groups it still offers a great option as your accommodation for the Darwin Festival, offering 24-hour guest services, lap pool, fitness centre and a restaurant & bar.
So, start packing your bags and we’ll see you for some festival fun very soon.
